Question Authority? Are you nuts?
We are told not to rock the boat. We are told that all will be well. Just go out shopping and nothing will happen to us. I decided to take a shot. I decided to challange the CW of the day and the news. Nothing was spared. My "test subjects" were the crew of the ship I'm stationed on, the USNS Sacagawea (T-AKE 2).
The topics ranged from keeping your paycheck, the fairtax, the new president and a host of others.
I can now report with conviction that we have nothing to fear. All is well.
I lied, were screwed.
Think I'm over reacting here? Maybe but not by much. I'm told that I"m a nut for even considering some of the subjects that I've proposed. On this website, I'm sure I would receive some if not 100% support.
Out in the world, I might as well be worried about the mine shaft gap! I submit to you events that have happened during the past week. Please tell me if I've lost my mind!
I've told people that it's time to bring the troops home. I got cheers for that one. I also said that unless
the 89th Panzer Division breaks out from the Rhine Pocket real soon, it's time for the troops from Germany to come home in 16 months. I got blank stares for that one.
Try telling people that the tax code contains 65,000 pages and you will not get a complaint. Tell people that the Bible contains 1400 pages and watch people scream, "How dare you bring up God!" (Rhan," Feel like a chump?" Washington Times)
Tell everyone you meet that's time for a fairtax, flat tax, any other type of tax that would keep more money in your paycheck and the first reaction is "What about the rich?" The next is the greedy CEO's are to blame
for the current money mess. Everyone wants the govt to tell all the rich folks to pay thier fair share.
I'm a little worried about this one. I really don't want the govt telling the CEO of Corp. Whatever "this is your paycheck, deal with it. " Why would the govt stop there? And where was the govt in preventing us from the "bailout?"
Ask how long it takes to build a bridge? Go ahead try. I dare you. I'm not sure if the new president really knows or cares. By the time they get thru with the lawsuits, EPA, zoning, and a host of other stuff not even thought of yet, I'm sure it's gonna take years. Does the president have that kind of time. He has to produce NOW! He cant wait years.
According to Henry Lamb, the "Pork behind the Pomp", (world net daily) the govt is busy telling amimal
farmers' to chip their flock so they can track the animals better. It up to the FARMER to pay for the cost.
Not the Govt. I'm sure this is not the first and only govt program of this nature.
Pick any subject, tell everyone you heard it on CNN. That's an ok source. Mention the same subject was heard of FOX, can't trust that source! Or you heard it on talk radio. Another untrusted source. The point here is simple, unless you hear the news on an approved channel it's unconfirmed and cannot be trusted.
I'm convinced the 24hr news channels are in it for the ratings, not for the truth.
We are being told that it's now ok to trust the govt now the BHO now the head of state. Strange, the day
before the head of state was the evil Bush. Now, before I put Bush in front of a firing squad, I like to add a few people to the list. HMMM-can I start with congress? Are they not a part of the govt that helps pass the laws of the land? I remember that from my civic's class...or did I get that wrong?
I will never forgive Congress for creating what has to be the two of the inept deptartments in the country.
FEMA and Homeland Security!
We have a war on terror, a war on drugs, a war on poverty, a war on AIDS, a war on global warming,
can we plant a flag somewhere and declare victory?
You get the idea. We have steep hill to climb. I try not to depressed. It's seems kind of hopeless. Why
go thru all the agony of trying to explain to people that either don't care or won't even consider a life
without all the govt rules and regs. We hear that the era of Reagan is over. Can anyone tell me when the era of FDR is over?
Please tell me I have reason for hope. I fear it's left the building.
