IT HAS BEGUN: this is just a copy/paste from savetheguns.com

The Second Amendment Foundation has just released the following alert. It is a very telling development and it is not a surprise to me. President-Elect Barack Obama has nominated a new United States Attorney General who signed an Amicus Curiae Brief in the D.C. v Heller case that claimed preposterously that the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights does not support the right of individual Americans to keep and bear arms.

I don't want to say it, but I feel compelled to... I told you so. I attempted time and time again to get American firearm owners to fully realize how terrible a President Obama would be for our right to keep and bear arms. If you come across a law abiding firearm owner who either did not vote or voted for Barack Obama, be sure to send him/her your thanks. Our cherished Second Amendment will be in for a wild ride in the next four years and I fear that it won't be pretty.

The Second Amendment Foundation, Gun Owners of America, Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership and of course our National Rifle Association are going to need your full support in the next four years just to make sure we don't lose the right to keep and bear arms altogether. America voted for change on November 4th and we are about to get it.

Thanks,
Marc Richardson

"...the Constitution’s Second Amendment is the most important. Without the ability to protect themselves and their property, discussion of any other rights is only so much talk." - Dr. Paul

"More importantly, however, the debate about certain types of weapons ignores the fundamental purpose of the Second amendment. The Second amendment is not about hunting deer or keeping a pistol in your nightstand. It is not about protecting oneself against common criminals. It is about preventing tyranny. The Founders knew that unarmed citizens would never be able to overthrow a tyrannical government as they did. They envisioned government as a servant, not a master, of the American people. The muskets they used against the British Army were the assault rifles of the time. It is practical, rather than alarmist, to understand that unarmed citizens cannot be secure in their freedoms. It’s convenient for gun banners to dismiss this argument by saying “That could never happen here, this is America”- but history shows that only vigilant people can keep government under control. By banning certain weapons today, we may plant the seeds for tyranny to flourish ten, thirty, or fifty years from now."
